The so-called " borrow pits " that provided fill for the Pequest Fill can be seen to the right. 9. Like other Mississippian mound centers, Towosahgy also had a borrow pit , where earth was removed to create the mounds. 10. Around 500 Mound B was built up more with dirt from another borrow pit ( not the pond ).
